Couture Spring Summer 15

A feeling of modernity planned on couture’s collections this season. I noticed a lot of pants (Giambattista Valli, Armani Prive, Jean Paul Gaultier), flat shoes and crop tops and overall a rebellious “bourgeoise” attitude at Chanel, even denim shorts cut out (Maison Margiela). Old fashioned boudoir spirit was omnipresent at Elie Saab, sexy cut outs and long silhouettes at Versace. The tight over the knee boots are still having a moment, they were just perfect at Dior in flashy patent colours surfing on the glam rock 70’s trend. Russian, eastern countries folklore was celebrated at Ulyana Sergeenko and Valentino both using rich fabrics and patterns. But the big curiosity of this season was the return of John Galliano freshly appointed creative director for Maison Margiela. The Galliano touch was definitely there while using the brand’s creative statements. It was a safe start for Mr Galliano, that is understandable… But we hope to see more risky things in the upcoming collections
