Aurora James is one of those character you want to know more about instantly. Obviously the girl is stylish, but the down to earth approachable kind, and her initiative has been catching everyone’s interest in the fashion game. After working in the creation and production world, Aurora launched Brother Vellies, a shoe brand that celebrates Africa through the craftsmanship of traditional African vellies shoes (also called desert boots) and use of authentic fabrics such as leather, animal skins according to strict sustainability criterias. Although the brand has its headquarter in Brooklyn, New York, the collection is produced between Kenya, South Africa and Morocco allowing artisans to continue exercising their craft and provide a stable life for their families. Consciousness, tradition, ethnic chic perfectly summarise James collection DNA. Aurora James is one of the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund finalist, and we bet her work will be rewarded very soon.
